CREF 2014 in Miami was a sell-out event. 450 stakeholders from 41 countries signed up to attend before registration was closed early. The unprecedented interest in CREF speaks to the track-record of the conference as the single most important gathering of the regional energy market on the annual calendar. More significantly it speaks to the rapidly emerging opportunity to develop renewables across the Caribbean. Where once the focus was on the enabling environment, now attention is sharply focused on commercialization and implementation. If ever there was a time to engage in the Caribbean renewables market, it is now.
The Goldfield Solar booth was active throughout the event. Headed by Terrence Haynes VP of Business Development at Goldfield, and Fidel Reijerse, President of RESCo Energy. RESCo is one of Canada’s largest solar design and installation companies, and has a 50% ownership stake in Goldfield.
As part of CREF, Goldfield shared how it brings incredible innovation and high quality detailed design to commercial solar energy projects in Barbados and other Caribbean islands.
